How to use Scrum in FlowFast

Scrum method in FlowFast

For Scrum work in FlowFast, there is a ready-made template, which consists of a backlog board and a board for the current sprint. A sprint is a period of time during which the team goes to a specific goal. A sprint allows the team to concentrate on a certain goal and only perform tasks that lead to its fastest achievement. All other lower priority tasks remain in the sprint backlog, which can then be taken to the next sprint.

How do I create a Scrum board?

  1. Open the menu, hover over the name of the space in which you want to create a Scrum board.

  2. Add a new board on this space in one of three ways:

  1. Select the Scrum template.

After this, an empty Backlog board and a Sprint board will appear on the space. It remains to fill them with cards. The Backlog board will record all planned tasks and the Backlog column of the Sprint board will record the tasks to be done for the sprint.

Starting a Sprint

To start the sprint, click on the three dots in the top right corner of the Sprint Board. In the menu that appears, click "Start sprint".

In the window that appears, fill in the name, start date and end date of the sprint. Optionally you can set the goal of the sprint. Click on "Start".

After this, a line will appear on the Sprint board under its name with the Sprint end date and goal.

Advancing tasks to the next sprint

To start a new sprint, drag the cards from the Backlog board to the Sprint board in the Sprint backlog column. If there are unfinished tasks from the last sprint on the board, also move them to the Sprint Backlog column and start the new sprint.

Scheduling tasks for multiple sprints ahead

You can create an unlimited number of lanes on the board, for example, to schedule tasks for several sprints ahead.

To save space on the board, a lane can be collapsed.

Burndown chart and Velocity chart

Immediately after the start of the sprint, graphs become available to you to evaluate the team's work in the Sprint "Burndown chart" and "Velocity chart". To view them, click on the name of the sprint, and then on the name of the desired schedule.

To use the "Velocity chart" before the start of the sprint, you need to evaluate the cards that will be included in this sprint.

The sum of scores of the cards that are in the columns "queue" and "in progress" will be used as the planned score.

End of the Sprint

Before completing a Sprint, make sure that all cards on the Sprint Board are in the columns corresponding to their status.

To complete, click on the name of the Sprint, which is located under the name of the sprint board. In the window that appears, click Finish.

Changing the card size after the end of the Sprint does not affect the speed graph (the actual size at the end of the Sprint is saved).
