You can now create projects by uniting tasks from different spaces on the Gantt chart, set previously arranged plans on the project and also set constant time intervals between your tasks.
It's a new feature in the "Resource planning" module. You can plan tasks from different spaces on one time scale within a project.
For example, you've got a project "Building a house". The architects' tasks are placed on one space, the builders' tasks are on the second space, the purchasing department tasks on the third space. You can unite the tasks of different directions into one project within one timeline, plan due dates and follow the work on the project. What's more, the tasks that are not connected with the project aren't reflected on the timescale in this mode.
You can create an unlimited number of projects based on your needs.
Projects are not tied to spaces.
You can include cards from all the spaces you have access to in one project.
You can see the list of all your projects in the "Resource planning" mode no matter which space you're on.
In the "Projects" mode done or archived cards stay visible on the timescale and in the grid of tasks.
In order to start working with a project, got to the resource planning module (Timeline button at the top) and open the "Projects" mode. Here you can select an existing or create a new one.
Baseline helps to record the agreements on the project with the customer. If you created the plan of the project and then the deadlines changed, you can check out what the initial agreements had been.
It helps to align expectations with the real work on the project and analyze the deviations from the plan.
You can create an unlimited number of baselines for different dates.
The deviations from the baseline will be marked red in the grid with the tasks.
The previously agreed baseline will be reflected as black lines on the time scale.
In order to create a baseline on a project or see the previously set one click on the button next to the name of the project and choose the needed option.
If you know that there should be a certain time interval between the planned tasks b you can set it on the timeline. In this case even if you change the due dates the interval will remain.
The interval can be both positive and negative.
A positive interval example:
You're planning editing and publishing a video. You know that after editing is finished you'll need 10 hours for rendering. Only after it you'll be able to publish it. Then you can set this interval between the tasks into your project plan.
A negative interval example:
You're planning apartment renovation. While the preparatory work is being done, it's important for you to buy everything for the cosmetic renovation so that the workers didn't have to wait. Then you can set a negative interval between the "Preparatory work" and "Buying materials" tasks, so that the second task always started 3 days before the first one is done.
To do this link the needed cards and then click on the connection arrow to set the time interval. You can also do it in the columns "Predecessors cards" and "Successors cards" in the grid by clicking on the connection sign.
Now if you change due dates in cards the interval between them won't change.
A small but a very convenient update: now planned start and planned end (the timeline) are reflected on the card facade on the boards
